Troy’s Tropics began over 40 years ago as an answer to a real need in the Sarasota area: great quality plants and exceptional service at an affordable price. At a time when the arrival of big box stores led to the decline of many local nurseries, we persevered. Today, we proudly stand as one of the few legacy nurseries that have endured since the 1980s.

Our journey started with just 2.5 acres of land, which soon expanded to 5 acres. Recently, we’ve grown even more, adding a second location with an additional 9 acres.

This expansion allows us to better serve our local landscape businesses, offering wholesale plants at unbeatable prices.

At Troy’s Tropics, we are most renowned for our locally grown quality plants. We are a premier grower of bougainvillea, annuals, palms, and small perennials. What sets us apart from the competition is not only our extensive selection but also the care we provide for our plants while they are here.
